The first day at school, the wedding, the first steps of the child – those special events used to be captured on photos and paper. Today, the collection of the precious memories often comes in an old shoe box in a cupboard. Over time, all these analog media are threatened with decay. After 20 years at the latest, the ravages of time start to gnaw away at the old photo prints. They become paler and more senisitive. At case, they can get moldy in contact with humitidy. Time causes damages which can hardly be repaired. PixelNet helps customers to revive the past and make their dreams come true keeping those memories alive in digital form.
PixelNet, a brand of the photo lab ORWO Net, is responding to the increasing demand in recent months. Scanning the old photos and negatives as well as digitizing slides is not a new field of business for the ORWO Net. High-performance scanners and trained personnel have already built customer’s confidence in the digitizing process over the past years. This field of business will now be expanded with new scanners and additional personnel.
Peter Warns, Managing Director of ORWO Net GmbH, says: „Our customers entrust us with their most personal photos. Often they have pictures of without the negatives still existing. They want the digitizing to be in professional hands. We are aware of this responsibility and scan with the greatest care, under strict security regulations.“
The customer is regularly informed about the status and locations of their photos by e-mail. After scanning work is finished, they will receive a downloadlink where the customer can directly process their photos. Digital prints no longer age or decay – they are preserved and ready, duplicated or find themselves as a photo product on the wall, or in a PixelNet photo book.
